Welcome to I.B.M. British Ring Convention 1997

The annual convention of I.B.M. British Ring No.25, one of Europe's longest-running magic conventions. Featuring international performers, Star Lectures, the Dealers' Magical Trade Fair, the Close-Up Competition for the Zina Bennett Trophy, the Competition for the British Ring Shield, Children's Showtime, and the International Magic Gala Show for the I.B.M.

President Bob Hayden welcomes conventioneers to Southport for the 61st Annual Convention, to be officially opened by the President in the presence of His Worshipful The Mayor of Sefton, Councillor Jim Hayes, followed by 'Southport Sorcery' with Keelan Leyzer, Little Luke, Van Buren Jnr & Kim, Marco Duca and Terry Herbert. The week's Star Lectures include Torkova (USA), Phil Temple (USA) recalling Thurston the Magician, Yuji Yamamoto (Japan), Peter Kersten (Germany), Peki (Germany) and Bob McAllister (USA), alongside A Gala of Magic for the Overseas Visitors, the Close-Up Competition for the Zina Bennett Trophy, the Competition for the British Ring Shield, Eddie Dawes' Celebratory Magic, the Late Late Gala, Children's Showtime at Southport's Little Theatre, and the International Magic Gala Show presented for the I.B.M. across two houses on the Saturday. The convention closes on Sunday with the Installation of incoming President Derek Lever. Organising Secretary: Jeffery Atkins.
